The Melissa and Doug sand sets are awesome! The ice cream set is especially fun and was a favorite on our recent beach trip. The plastic is sturdy and will likely hold up to many years of use. Both my two-year-old and nine-year-old daughters enjoyed this set. I even occasionally caught my 13 year old playing with it!
These are pricier than dollar store sets, but worth it.
