After two uses and making sure to say NO each time, my dog immediately paused and you could see her wheels turning. Now when I say NO at different times even without the trainer, she already responds more appropriately. I'm sure I will have to use it periodically, but the results so far are very encouraging.
Now fair warning: this is like blasting an air horn to a dog. It will scare them to death but it WON'T hurt them. However DO NOT overuse it. The first time or two, they will probably shiver and tuck tail like you would if someone blasted an air horn at you that you didn't expect. This is when you show ENCOURAGEMENT to calm then down, while fixing the behavior. This is NOT a panic button. It is a trainer - for you AND your pet!
