Great improvement on a portable laser
I initially bought the laser pecker 1 and after some uses i wanted to get 2 with rotary. It is noticeable faster and can engrave on more materials with ease. The rotary tool allows interesting ideas to engrave by allowing longer objects which I used to be limited in with lp1. It offers great value for the price and remains compact at the same time.
Solved my issue!
Needed something to etch in serial numbers on Glass-filled poly enclosures. This does a beautiful job. Was hoping it would also work on Aluminum, but it does not. Some say it does if you paint or shade w/Sharpee marker, but all it really does is burns the painted area, and does not burn into the aluminum. But that's OK, I specifically purchased it for softer materials and it does that perfectly as described and looks very professional. I'll watch for their latest entry, and if it can do non-ferrous metals, I may also purchase one of those for the other jobs.
LP2 is so much fun to use and very versatile
This laser was purchased for my wife's business expansion. Her review- "This is my first introduction to the Laser World and I love it! It's so easy to use from my cell. I wanted to engrave everything in my house. For a novice, the instructions were easy to follow. My first project was engraving wooden Christmas ornament blanks. They turned out perfect in my opinion but not without trial and error. Although the laser provided a square outline preview and a midpoint of my design, the results could've been a little larger.. I had to keep adjusting the size to fill the ornament which meant I wasted several before perfecting. I recommend testing every print on scrap medium before wasting your material. I'm not a fan of all the trial and error but apparently, it comes with the laser world platform because all products aren't created equal... Constant tweeking to get the results you want. The FB user group for the LP2 has helped tremendously seeing other's success and techniques. I have so much more to learn but the bottom line- you can't go wrong with this powerful, amazing, versatile tool"!
So easy to use. You'll love it.
What can I say? This thing works. Extremely fancy? No. High end software? No. But it does what it says, and it does it well. I watched a couple videos after I placed the order, and when it arrived, I was burning in minutes. Downloading clip-art and burning is easy. I customized a logo for my wood turning, and burned it in no time. The software is direct and easy to use and seems to work with any graphic I throw at it. I had a minor issue and was concerned about contacting support. Ha! I was emailed back within a day with a solution. Oh no! Update firmware! Well, just bring up the app, connect to the LP2, press a couple buttons and it’s updated. No searching for downloads; finding the file; applying the right version. Just press the button. And, it fixed my issue. I wish I’d bought it sooner. The LP2 is great and support is awesome. Does it fit everybody’s laser needs? Probably not, but for the price, it can’t be beat. You’ll be wandering the house looking for things to laser…
Simple yet powerful
I've been running this for a couple weeks now and so far pretty impressed. The app is a little on the simplistic side for my taste but I understand why they made it that way for usability sake. Still works the way you would expect it to. When starting out definitely do a variety of test pieces and write down your findings. The pre-built settings aren't always the best. The android app has some bugs yet but IOS is just fine. Metals are tricky, some work differently than others. Experiment. It definitely WILL NOT actually engrave the metals. It will mark them but that is all, surface only. Painted or powder coated metals (yetis and similar) mark really nicely. I've found 55% 10 depth and 2 passes is the best otherwise it will start to burn. Also highly recommended getting some vent tubing if you are working in a living space. Woods get really smokey and plastics have some strong fumes. Hope this helps.
Laserpecker 2
What I like about the laserpecker2 is that it is easy to set up right out of the box. Assembly was super easy. I had it up and lasering within half an hour. the app is also easy to use as long as you follow the easy tutorial.
I had been looking at other laser machines but I found that laserpecker2 was easy and much faster lasering. I made a sample of some of the images on the app and most took about 30 seconds to make. super awesome for my needs. Another great feature is that it's portable. You can take it anywhere as long you have some sort of power supply. I use my cell phone power bank and it worked great. The only drawback is that it drains the cell phone battery quickly. I would definitely recommend for anybody looking for something easy to laser.
This is a very convenient, practical and fun tool to have.
This is a very convenient, practical and fun tool to have.
It is easy to set up, the app is easy to follow.
Being able to engrave on many different items is great for identification and also to just make things pretty.
You have options for the depth of the engraving, the resolution and also how many passes that you go over.
