Value per $
2 things to know, the frames per second is noticeably slow. The picture size is smaller than most are used to by my guess. Being able to see hot spots in electronics, in the wall. Drawing power from a connection you can see the temp difference. Draft in a room, you can find where it is coming from. A hiding mammal you can see it.(if it moves the fps will be noticeable). Puddle on the ground, the temp difference can be noticeable. For what it can do I find it to be a good value for the price.
Incredible portability and a very worthwhile tool for a mechanic
This little camera is phenomenal! Being able to see the temperature of objects has been an incredible addition to my toolbox. I can see small tire leaks, radiator blockages, slight offsets in vent temperatures, electrical loads due to heat build up in wiring or fuses, and bad spots in heating elements. The usage cases for this thing are incredible! Well worth the investment.
Ghost or heat and/or Hot Ghost
0 for 10 on finding ghost. 3 of 3 on finding my wife half dressed while I test out the camera. I can see her curves very clearly with this device and believe she is hotter than any ghost I may find. I can easily connect it to my iPhone and upload picture of my wife's ghostly figure to the cloud to share with other ghost hunters.
Compact at only an inch thick and a good size display.
The camera is only an inch thick, and the view screen is larger than some of the other handhelds. It is easy to hold while panning a room, circuit breakers, or equipment. I like the way an image has what I call pencil lines of objects in a room, making it easy to recognize what you are imaging. Automatic high and low temps on the scale and spot temp. Sensitivity is great. An example is my cat setting on a rug for a couple minutes. The cat moves but you still see an image where the cat was setting as the rug absorbed a little heat. I have used Flir industrial cameras the last 20 years, costing many thousands of dollars. For the low cost, this infrared camera has great value from higher end cameras they sell. Low power consumption and easy recharging makes for a great camera.
Works great, easy to use
This is camera has worked great. It’s easy to use, it connects to wifi so you can upload your pictures and update the software. It charges via USB C so you can charge it using any normal power adapter. The build quality is good.
Handy Tool
I have been playing around with this getting familiar with the settings in different situations(there's a bit of a learning curve), and found some over heating issues in equipment that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed.
Finding new uses all the time.
IR + normal photo at the same time
IR + normal photo at the same time is a great feature. I did not manage to setup the WiFi, requires FLIR cloud and giving all rights to your pictures to FLIR. I do not like this. Using USB cable instead, which is in fact better for me, also from security point of view. Camera is great.
